This edition of Aware highlights the Race and Reconciliation initiative. Host Dee Dee Sharp is joined by Julie Patton, a licensed clinical social worker and UWF instructor, and Dr. Lusharon Wiley, Senior Associate Dean/Director of Case Management Services and student ombudsperson with UWF's Division of Student Affairs. Discussion topics include social inequality and privilege; racial tensions in the greater Pensacola area; self-education on issues of diversity; social and racial injustice; the legacy of "Jim Crow"; faith-based initiatives; mass incarceration and the problem of criminalization of school behavior issues.
