The Winnebago Tribe of Nebraska has sued the U.S. Army, seeking return of the remains of two boys who died at the Carlisle Indian Industrial School. ICT's Stewart Huntington has more on a case that could have far reaching impacts for tribal efforts to honor the children who died at the infamous institution. It isn't just fashion designers who get called out for using Native names and imagery to sell products, and that doesn't sit well with media professor Gary Rhodes. He's been campaigning against the practice for years-most recently, in an essay in The Washington Post. Rhodes specifically targets the Jeep Cherokee. Salmon is sacred to many Northwest coast tribes, including the Puyallup Tribe near Tacoma, Washington. It's also an important food source for a healthy diet. And now, the tribe is processing the catch for economic development. Stewart Huntington has the story.
