In Casas Grandes, Pati rides in style with local art curator Mayte Lujan in her 1960s Cadillac. Moving on, Samantha visits the whimsical C1 Espresso shop, where her lunch is delivered via pneumatic tube. Keeping on track, Samantha visits with Jade, who runs a Gap Filler garden and cafe where Samantha learns about the Maori tradition and the different indigenous vegetables and flowers grown in Jade's garden. Leaving Christchurch, Samantha explores Akaroa Harbor stopping off at the Giants House, a mosaic art collection utilizing porcelain. Penguins in New Zealand? Samantha visits a local farm that has been concentrating its conservation efforts on protecting the endangered Pohatu Penguins. From one farm to the next, Samantha joins Angela and Chef Giulio for a picnic, that consists of wild elderflower and artichokes that they collectively just foraged. North Canterbury wineries are quite the hit, as Samantha tries some local wine and chats with the local winemakers about the unique New Zealand tradition of wine. Heading back to the city, Samantha checks out the newly reopened City Library and all its wonderful technological resources. Finishing off her trip, Samantha heads back to the Dance O Mat to dance Bollywood style with the locals.

Joseph looks back to his first voyage through Alaska's Inside Passage to the land and the people of America's Last Frontier. His ocean-going vessel carries him through Canadian waters to Prince Rupert, British Columbia and on through Alaska's inside passage to Juneau, Skagway and Sitka. Along the way the ship stops in Tracy Arm Fjord to catch nature's show headlined by Bald Eagles and Gray, Orca and Humpback whales. Further explorations take him to Alaska's capital, Juneau and while no roads lead to Juneau visitors still come to trek its glaciers, kayak its rivers and ski its mountains. Joseph's Alaskan journey of discovery continues in the Klondike Gold Rush town of Skagway and in historic Sitka where he explores its Russian roots. On his Inside Passage journey he meets the Tsimshian people and learns of their struggle to retain their language, rich culture and ancient ceremonies. Alaska is America's Last Frontier and every Alaskan has a story to tell about what brought them and what keeps them there. In the end, Joseph discovers that they came for the land, but they stayed for the people.
A small state in Brazil's dry northeast, Ceara is home to a variety of traditions not found in the rest of the vast country. The inland bush, called the sertao, is home to cowboys and and odd rodeo, while the coast supports fisherman whose wooden boats are little changed over the last several centuries. Ceara is home to Brazil's most important religious shrine, its last lace-weavers, and a startling array of tropical fruits.
