Formerly Music and Artistic Director of the Los Angeles Philharmonic, he joins a storied lineage of NY Phil leaders that includes Gustav Mahler, Arturo Toscanini, and Leonard Bernstein. To mark Dudamel's arrival in New York, GREAT PERFORMANCES captures a program from David Geffen Hall featuring Mahler's dynamic Symphony No. 5 and the world premiere of Tania Leon's Imagenes mestizas.
