This show introduces us to Vermonters with passionate ideas about the working landscape: Ross Morgan is a forester based in Craftsbury Common. While working with wood lot owners and loggers he shows that good forest management practices can be profitable. David Major and his wife Cyndy own 'Major Sheep Farm' in Westminster West. They graze their sheep on the slopes of nearby ski area Mount Snow, demonstrating a new partnership between tourism and agriculture. Robert Foster and his brothers run a successful dairy farm in Middlebury, 'Foster Brothers' Farm'. Their success is based upon an openness to new technology. They generate electricity from cow manure. John Nopper of 'River View Farm' is a Putney sheep breeder who recognizes the importance of local farms to regional economies. He is both a lobbyist and a spokesman for Vermont's lamb producers. John Warshow and Mathew Rubin own Winooski One Hydro Partnership in Winooski. Warshow, a former anti-nuclear demonstrator, put his beliefs to work by starting a hydroelectric business.
