Our Spring Dialogue was held virtually on Thursday, February 24, 2022. Students, employees, and the community had an opportunity to get an understanding of CRT, away from the dramatized representations in the media. A specific focus was a discussion of criminal justice and the legal system. Almost 70 participants were able to learn how decisions are made and how the public can influence those decisions through a racial equity lens and what practices government agencies, schools, and the community can implement.

Professor Joanne Bagshaw participated in the Montgomery College Smithsonian Faculty Fellowship program in 2017. She and her psychology students explored new approaches and pedagogies, explored social justice themes and assignments and traveled to Smithsonian museums to enrich their learning.
Professor J. Sean Fay teaches criminal justice at Montgomery College. He participated in the Montgomery College Smithsonian Faculty Fellowship Program in 2017. Fay shares his experience with designing and implementing a social justice themed, semester-long project for his Criminal Justice 110 Administration of Justice course. Students spent much of the semester critically evaluating our legal system in an attempt to assess how it influences our core beliefs in social justice.
