If you're interested in becoming an HVAC (heating, ventilation, and air conditioning) technician, or if you're a current building and construction professional looking to advance your essential HVAC skills, our HVAC program will provide the training, skills, and knowledge you need. You'll receive a comprehensive mixture of academic and practical training. Coursework is laboratory intensive complemented with additional classroom studies. In order to receive the AAS degree, you must pass the EPA 608 Certification Exam and at least one Industry Competency Exam (ICE). Montgomery College is a member of the Registered Apprenticeship-College Consortium, a network of colleges and registered apprentice programs.

The theme of this year’s Frank Islam Athenaeum Symposia Speaker Series is Advocacy, Activism, and Public Engagement. The Series’ opening event featured Congressman Jamie Raskin, Maryland’s Eighth Congressional District in the U.S. House of Representatives and constitutional scholar. In Raskin’s virtual presentation, “ Partnerships, Polarization & Constitutional Patriotism,” the congressman discussed constitutional patriotism within the context of a divided nation. Following the presentation, he answered questions from the audience of more than 200 students, faculty, staff, and Montgomery County community members. Author Nadia Hashimi talks about her book "The Pearl that Broke Its Shell". She paints a poignant picture of two generations of women in Afghanistan. The ancient custom of bacha posh, allowing a young woman to dress and be treated as a son until she is of marriageable age, plays a role in the lives of both women.
