From Winnipeg the group travels over 2,000 km north to the remote Inuit community of Kimmirut where they discover life on the land is more intense than they ever could have imagined.

Over the years, pipes, cradle boards, parfleches, and other ancestral artifacts from the Wind River Reservation in Wyoming have accumulated in museums, far from their place of origin. 'LIVED HISTORY' documents the creation of a high definition video 'virtual museum' of ancestral artifacts, currently stored in museum collections, for the Eastern Shoshone and Northern Arapaho tribes. The Wind River Virtual Museum is an attempt to preserve the observations of elders, whose numbers are diminishing rapidly on the Wind River Reservation.
This is the saga of the United Keetoowah Band, the first American Indian tribe to try and relocate across state lines, from Oklahoma to Arkansas, to reclaim their native land lost to them in 1828. The program is narrated by Jim Henson, a full blooded UKB, who tells the story from the Keetoowah perspective in both English and the Keetoowah language.

From his birth in the Bitterroot Mountains among the Salish Tribe, to his exploits as a warrior with the Lemhi Shoshone and Bannocks, Washakie was recognized early as an extraordinary person. But he made his historical claim to greatness in the second half of the 19th century, as chief of the Eastern Shoshone. He led the tribe in battle and in peace, and navigated the difficult negotiations with the U.S. government that eventually provided the Shoshone with a permanent homeland along the eastern slopes of the Wind River Mountains. The Documentary, funded in part by the Wyoming State Legislature, features a wealth of historical photographs and artwork, as well as aerial photography shot over the Wind River Indian Reservation. Research was conducted at the National Archives, the Smithsonian Institute and museums throughout the West.
The group arrives in Muskrat Dam, one of several fly-in reserves in Northern Ontario. Most Canadians don't understand why people continue to live in remote places like this one. During their stay the group will learn why relocating isn't an option for the people whose families have been here for generations. They will also learn tough lessons about educating youth in a remote fly-in community, the impact of the legacy of residential schools, and how it is possible that clean drinking water is an issue here and in 140 other reserves across the country. The next stop takes the travelers deep into the heart of Alberta. With a population of over 17,000, Maskwacis has a reputation for gangs, crime, and a high suicide rate, but by the time this leg of their journey is over, the six will have attended their first Pow Wow and sweat lodge ceremony, and some attitudes within the group begin a major shift.
