The kids also notice some of the dirt on the ground has little bits of leaves in it, and they realize that the leaves that fall on the forest floor eventually get old and go back into the soil, just like the compost that Ari's Dad makes.Snow Friend - Elinor, Ari and Olive are building a giant Snow Friend, but there isn't enough snow to finish their masterpiece. Luckily, the next day brings fresh new snow, but this snow won't stay packed at all - it just falls apart. Tanika, a 46-year-old network journalist in Atlanta, Georgia, was looking forward to starting a family after getting married. But her hope of becoming a mother faced an obstacle because she has noncancerous tumors in her uterus called uterine fibroids. According to the University of Michigan, African-American women are two to three times more likely than white women to have recurring fibroids or suffer from complications. In this episode, Tanika explains how she handled the struggle of living with uterine fibroids and how she refused to let these issues take away her dream of motherhood. Later, Medical Stories travels to Brighton, Michigan, where another couple are trying to overcome a medical condition that's preventing them from having children. Despite growing up with unusual symptoms, Sara wasn't diagnosed with endometriosis until she was in her thirties. The Kids tell them about Vinka and the brothers agree she needs some of their roo tail stew, but they can't make it, because that's what they argued about. Hudson tricks them into making it, and the brothers make up. The Kids take the stew back to Vinka and it works, but when they return to the town they find the brothers gone, but one of the special stones in their place.
The Ngurin River runs to the coast but is often dry. On a rare rainy day, the Red Dirt Riders want to see how much water is in the dam. In this episode the Riders hear about what the river was like before the dam, and they meet some sisters looking at country in the warm winter weather. The trip to the dam is interrupted though, when one of the support vehicles becomes bogged.
