"Hyphy" was a musical movement that emerged from the streets of Oakland, California in the '90s and encouraged kids to "go dumb" -- to stop thinking, have fun, and dance instead of get violent. WE WERE HYPHY explores this movement through interviews with the charismatic artists behind the music and also looks at the dances, fashions, and culture spawned by their genius. The film traces the movement's influence on a variety of artists, from legendary figures such as Keak da Sneak, Mac Dre, and Mistah FAB to modern-day artists such as Kamaiyah, G-Eazy and Rafael Casal. A love letter to Hyphy, the film also details the highs and lows of the movement and its enduring place in the hip-hop pantheon.

THE LINCOLN SCHOOL STORY is a half-hour documentary that examines the little-known fight for school desegregation led by a handful of Ohio mothers and their children in 1954. In the wake of Brown v. Board of Education, school districts nationwide were mandated to integrate. But when African American mothers in Hillsboro, Ohio, tried to enroll their children in the local, historically white schools, the school board refused to comply. Five mothers and their children took the school board to court. With Constance Baker Motley as the lead lawyer, along with help from a fledgling NAACP chapter, they started one of the nation's first civil rights marches to end school segregation. While the lawsuit wound through the courts, the mothers and children marched every day despite threats, cross burnings and job losses. They marched in sun, rain and snow for nearly two years until the mothers won their court case. Their children became the first Black students to attend a high-quality local elementary school. Their judicial victory in the Midwest inspired Black parents in communities across the country.

Injunuity is a collage of reflections on the Native American world, our shared past, our turbulent present, and our undiscovered future. From Columbus to the western expansion to tribal casinos, we are taught that the Native way, while at times glorious, is something of the past, something that needed to be replaced by a manifest destiny from across the ocean. But in a world increasingly short of real answers, it is time we looked to Native wisdom for guidance. It is time for some Injunuity. Injunuity is a mix of animation, music, and real thoughts from real people exploring our world from the Native American perspective. Every word spoken is verbatim, every thought and opinion is real, told in nine short pieces and covering such topics as language preservation, sacred sites, and the environment. But rather than simply revisit our history, the goal of Injunuity is to help define our future, to try and figure out the path that lies before us, to focus on where we are going as well as where we have been.
