Andy Griffith : Barney Fife, Realtor

Barney decides he'll try his luck at selling homes after meeting with Mayberry realtor Ernie Slummer. Barney is enticed by the possibility of earning a 5% commission on deals. Barney mentions that the Williams family may soon put their house on the market and if they do Andy could afford to buy it. Andy is intrigued by this idea since he's always loved their house. Later, Andy discovers Opie trying to sell his damaged bike to Howie Williams. Opie wants $5 for it and Andy is quick to point out the problems with the bike to teach his son a lesson in "fair dealin'." Once Howie hears about the bike's troubles, he decides he doesn't want to buy it. Meanwhile Barney has set up a tour for his clients, the Simses, to see the Taylors' home. He surprises Andy one night when he brings the couple over unannounced. While Barney fails to mention the problems with the house, Opie is quick to point out the crack in the kitchen ceiling, the faulty plumbing and the leaky roof. The couple quickly loses interest in the house. Andy believes Opie is trying to get back at him for spoiling his bicycle sale, but Opie insists he was employing the "fair dealin" principle. Barney is able to convince the Simses to have a second look at Andy's house. When they do, Andy frankly admits that the house does have its share of problems. The Simses react peculiarly to this honesty and suddenly decide they must buy the house. Andy explains he will sell his home only if he can purchase the Williams place. Barney immediately sets up a tour of the Williams house for Aunt Bee and Andy. While they are there, the Williams' son, Howie, innocently points out all of the problems with their house. Ultimately, Andy and Mr. Williams decide to stay put for the time being. This is all upsetting to Barney who decides to leave the real estate game and become a part-time used car salesman.

Andy Griffith : Goober Takes Apart A Car

Andy is attending a sheriff's safety conference in Mount Pilot and is left with no one to watch over the courthouse. Goober volunteers his services and a reluctant Andy consents. However, just before Andy is ready to leave for his trip, he finds Goober working on Gilly Walker's carburetor at Wally's Filling Station. However Goober promises Andy he will go straight to the courthouse after repairing the car. Later, Andy is further upset when he telephones the courthouse and gets no answer. Apparently Goober is still working on Gilly's car, except he now has it parked outside the jailhouse. After Goober begs for a final chance to help, Andy gives in and leaves town. However, soon after Goober arrives at the courthouse, he is hounded by Gilly who complains his car is still not running right. Before you know it, Goober has dismantled the entire car and rebuilt it inside the courthouse! When Andy returns from his trip he finds Goober, Gilly, Floyd and the car inside the courthouse. What more, Floyd is behind the wheel, contemplating buying the car. Andy is set into further panic when he goes home and discovers that two of his friends from the safety convention, Sheriff Jackson and Deputy Joe Watson are coming by the courthouse to visit him. When the visiting law officers arrive and find everyone and the car still in the courthouse, Andy braces for the worst. However all is well when the officers believe that the car is part of the safety program that was discussed at the conference. In fact, they ask Goober if he could set up a similar "display" in their own town.
