He led the tribe in battle and in peace, and navigated the difficult negotiations with the U.S. government that eventually provided the Shoshone with a permanent homeland along the eastern slopes of the Wind River Mountains. The Documentary, funded in part by the Wyoming State Legislature, features a wealth of historical photographs and artwork, as well as aerial photography shot over the Wind River Indian Reservation. Research was conducted at the National Archives, the Smithsonian Institute and museums throughout the West.
