Irezumi, The Japanese Art of Tattooing
A journey to the land of the rising sun to discover a fascinating ancient culture: the tattoo. Getting a tattoo can take months even years depending on the tattoo desired. This traditional technique is very painful. The designs printed on the body are symbols of strength and courage. This art is the exclusivity of few masters who perpetuate a tradition of excellence. Master Nakamura is one of the last tattoo artists in Japan using the brush technique and the legendary master Horriochi III known worldwide. We also show the production of the special ink 'Izumi' used to create masterpieces on the human body. The only plant manufacturing this natural based ink with the same technique for over 200 years.
Nickel, The Treasure of Kanak
For 25 years, Kanak have fought to obtain their share of the wealth arising from mining in New Caledonia. This film relates their struggle.
Unshackled
This films show the majestic beauty, peace and balance of a part of our Earth Mother that is rapidly being harmed and descrated by the human hand, oftentimes for greed and power. Unshackled gives a very important and positive message about our magnificent planet, and how we can all find ways to respect and take care of it.

Dust N' Bones
Dust n' Bones is a documentary that examines the legal issues, political controversies and historic mysteries that threaten the preservation and rededication of First Nations artifacts, burial sites, and remains. Framed around the impending transfer of funerary artifacts from the Royal BC Museum to traditional Cowichan territory, these themes are realized through the POV of traditional Cowichan former gravedigger, filmmaker and archaeological consultant Harold Joe. Complimenting both the personal and professional journey of Harold are the perspectives of the archaeologists, Elders, professors, and museum curators he encounters through his work. The insights of these subjects are told through one-on-one interviews hosted by Joe, as well as through dramatic recreations, archival and creative location footage that speaks to their experiences.

Jean-Michel Jorda is an accomplished documentary filmmaker who, with camera in hand, goes to meet various people in their environments, for over 8 years now. We follow him today in his new movie project entitled 'Nunavik, land of ice', which 90 years after 'Nanook of the North' leads us to discover the 21 century's Inuit's way of life: a people between traditions and modernity who had to confront and adapt to the many rapid changes which have occurred for nearly a century. Issues of respect and preservation of traditions and natural environment appears as central themes in this documentary, and beyond general cliches offers the viewer the possibility to interact within the reality of the Inuit people and their everyday lives.
