Description: She's an educator and an advocate, and now she's a Bush Fellow. Shirley Nordrum has poured her life's work into her community. She's a University of Minnesota Extension Educator serving Leech Lake, White Earth and Red Lake. Shirley infuses traditional ecological knowledge into her work and lifeway. Recently retired professor Tadd Johnson is the University of Minnesota's first senior director of American Indian Tribal Nations Relations. In the role, he serves as the bridge between the entire University of Minnesota system and tribal nations in the region. The first climate agreement to center Indigenous voices is gaining international support. The Escazu Agreement establishes the relationship between human rights and environmental protections. The United Nations Permanent Forum on Indigenous Issues urged its member states to adopt it. ICT's Carina Dominguez joins us with more.
